Here are three tips a property owner can follow before hitting the market to increase buyer interest:

1. Step Up Your Curb Appeal

First impressions are everything. Your home is no different! A buyer's first sights of the home create a lasting impression, so make it a good one. Spending a little extra time and money on the outside of your home will increase the likelyhood of a buyer requesting a tour of the inside. A few things to consider could include adding potted flowers, removing debris, re-painting a front porch or sealing the driveway. 

2. Removing Clutter

Clearing away clutter and personal effects (such as family photos) is imperative. This helps to create an atmosphere in which buyers can see and feel themselves living in. This could also include removing certain larger items, such as furniture, to open up the home and make it easier to see, walk through and experience. You want to keep in mind how a stranger will view your home - not necessarily your personal taste and sentiments. Consider hiring a stager to help show your home in its absolute best light. Stagers offer different levels of setting up your home. You can request a 'light' stage with small items like hand towels and table settings, all the way to a 'full' stage with sofas, tables and more.

3. Move In Condition

Purchasing a home is most likely the biggest decision of any person's life. A buyer is going to want to move in and enjoy their home, not worry about a bunch of little things to fix and the money it will take to do so. A few things to take a look at in your home before going to market are electrical fixtures, hinges, plumbing (pipes, faucets and shower heads), trim and paint.
